every time you hitch hike your taking your life in your hands,you just never know who it is your getting in that car with,a lot of women have lost their lives doing this.but hey,I'd give you a lift tho,just to make sure you were safe.cheers.

It depends on which country.
But that being said, I don't think hitchhiking is safe for anybody.
Men do get raped and/or stabbed also ya know.
Sad but true.
P.S. Sorry but I couldn't pick you up even if I wanted to as I do not have a car! Besides, you could well be some psychobitch with a 9mm or a sharp knife in your purse, am I right?

Oh YES, absolutely. In fact, you should wear as little clothing as possible and plan your trip in the south where it's warmer and you'll not need so many clothes. When someone stops to pick you up, you should lean into their car window and show some cleavage. Good luck with that!

Thats not even an option, if you are a women hitchhiking in a area you don't know something bad is bound to happen to you

...Well...I guess it's safe for a HUGE, Butch woman. but then again most pervs pick up women because their attracted to them. So I guess I'd say no it's not safe. You run a high risk of being raped and murdered, thrown in the ditch carelessly.
Sorry I don't pick up hitch hikers.

Heck No! I dont trust single women hitchhikers. They cut you or cry rape. Best to leave them alone.

As long as you're guarded about the people with whom you come in contact for lengthy periods of time and don't trust anyone you don't know I think you would be ok. It would help to be packing or have mace or something though.
