At 6 months old your beardies diet should be primarily protein (80% protein, 20% veggies/greens). Juvies dont usually get interested in greens/salads till closer to a year old. Somewhere between 12-16 months you can start weaning over to 80% veggies/greens and 20% protein. Crickets, silkworms, roaches are all good staple feeders. I would avoid mealworms as they have a high amount of chitin in their shells making them hard to digest. They also don't have much nutritional value. Wax worms and butter worms are good as treats occasionally. They are like candy for them. Beardies love them but they have a high fat content and not much nutrition.

For the live prey at that age you should be feeding them 2-3 times a day as many as he will eat in a 10-15 minute period. If you use crickets, make sure you take out any leftovers as hungry crickets are known to munch on beardies...not good.

Here is a good site to get a list of acceptable greens/veggies/fruits to feed your dragon. It also has a breakdown of nutrition content in the live prey.

If you want your beardie to eat more greens, a good trick is to drop a couple of worms in the bowl of greens. They will see the movement and go after the worm and get some greens and usually they decide they like them. Some are picky about the greens they like. You might have to expirement with those. My one girl hates collard greens but loves turnip greens.
