I'm not quite sure how taking an AP class effects on your GPA average. Please explain. Also, what is the highest (unweighted) GPA you can get?

typically instead of an "A" being worth 4 its worth 5 a B instead Of being 3 is worth 4 etc . so in sense if you took AP classes since freshmen year and got straight A's u could get a 5.0 but i don't think it has ever been done

It depends on your school. Some AP classes give 10 extra points, since it is a college level course. I'm not sure about the GPA weighted/unweighted issue--ask your counselor

It depends on your school.
We had 2 GPA systems at our school.
unweighted was out of 4.0
Our weighted GPA was out of 16.
