How do you make a website that ends in .com?

You have to acquire "registration" of the name. That means, you have to let the world know you have the right to use it, so's no one else can. Usually, you pay money for this right, like to godaddy.com or Yahoo! or some other "registrar". Some places, like www.msn.com or Yahoo! will give it to you for free in return for you taking on some of their other stuff like website hosting. Anyway, you have to pick a name no one else is already using. (They get to have *their* right to it too, ya know.) So, to find out, you can go to your search bar, and type "whois", and pick the one called "internic" and when it pops up, you'll see where you can "search by domain name" and you can keep trying and trying until you find a name *you* like and no one *else* is already using. Then, real quick, go register that name with godaddy.com or msn.com or yahoo.com or whoever...

simple, you have to find a domain registrar, like yahoo small business or startlogic hosting, and register it with them. First use their domain finder, and it will tell you if the name you want is available. Then when you find one that is, click register this name and then you will get a starter webpage for free
