We all judge one way or another. I don't care who says they DONT judge, trust me, on something one or another, they have pre-judged, or pre-conceived notions of a particular senario. I certainly judge in one way or another, and this is why....
I would say, it's always based on a certain experience. When you see a certain occuring situation and it's the same, over and over and over again, I mean...how many times must the dog bite you to learn your lesson?
There are some things that ring true 100% of the time, because 50% of the time we are focused on looking for it and will find it.
And that's mainly because most people are unhappy about a certain senario or their current place in time or experiences. SO instead, they dwell on the negative, rather the positive.
So if in our mindset we are looking out for "little old ladies driving Town Cars", we will rejustify our judgment, when we selectively seek and find these people. Totally ignoring about the 10 other driving by that are in Town Cars, and much much younger. We tend to think negative, before thinking positively.
A negative experience will always be remembered, over a positive one. Chances are if I'm driving around, I'm going to remember the 20 year old driving a Civic with a fart-can sounding muffler because it caused me to laugh at them, because it's just so common and un-original. While I most probably going to forget about the hot babe driving an F-150.
Just my thoughts....

For the same reason they judge you on the home you live in and the job you have. We are conditioned or have preset values that we use as standards. A nerd may drive a Yaris and a star athlete may drive a corvette. I think it may be, that is what we have seen in the past. If it walks like a duck, kind of thing.
We know, at least in our minds, what we expect certain people to be like. Rich guys live in mansions and have maids, poor guys live in the poor part of town.
We all prejudge people to some degree. Most of the time we are usually fairly accurate but sometimes we aren't.
Society has conditioned us all.

It amazes me that the really well off people in the upscale neighborhood are often diving some insignificant small car.
They may well have other status cars in their garages, for other occasions. While I find that others will be very proud of their large luxury car while living in small homes and perhaps an average or even poor neighborhoods. I try not to judge them on what they drive .

i don't really know the answer to this one, some people think because you drive an older car you don't have anything, that's not always true at all most people i know prefer to drive older cars,i do,and i can afford to buy a better one ,but i don't want one,i like an older one,but your right other people do judge people based on what they drive, but they might be surprised if they was to follow them home ,most people that drive older cars do own there own homes, and there paid for, most people who drive newer cars don't own the car nor do they own the home they drive it to,this was a fact that was actually done on survey back in 1997,most people they surveyed did have there homes paid for,and drove older cars, just goes to show you ,you cant judge a book by its cover, good luck i hope this help,s.

Because it says a lot. It gives us an idea of your income (although not always accurate), your taste, and how practical you are. We can also tell if the car is leased or not...(tags have a system of showing which cars are leased...)

Because most folks are shallow, and in this country, just plain spoiled. At least the ones being judged aren't in debt to their eyballs.

i do not manage drivers otherwise because of their automobiles. yet I did word when I used to force a VR-4, people does no longer enable me replace lanes if their lives relied on it. yet possibly that is merely Austin, "aggressive motive force capital of the international."

A lot of people think that your social status and how much money you make are somehow related to how good of a person you are.
