I don't know if it was a near-death experience; it was certainly an out-of-body experience.
When I had my first baby, I became very ill and I guess things were pretty serious for a while. At one point, I remember hovering in the top corner of the room and looking down at myself lying on the bed and my distraught mother sitting beside the bed. I remember feeling completely calm and at ease, with no pain, and wanting to tell her not to worry, that I was fine. It was not at all frightening, and ever since it happened, I've looked on it as a gift.

More times than I care to remember. IN fact I cant remember them all. The brain has a way of protecting oneself from trauma by intentionally forgetting. In fact on every 7th year of my life I have nearly died. 7, 14, 21, 28 ,35. When I was 21 I told people close to me 28 might be it, noone believed me, but I survived , by the skin of my teeth , then I thought about 35 when I was comming up to it, now everyone is warning me to be carefull at 42.

Yes.. I was at Disney World and I was in the pool. I was in an innertube (you know those plastic floaty things you can sit in) and I didnt realize that I had floated all the way to the deep end (which was like 8 ft) I saw a dead grasshopper floating towards me and jumped out. I went under like 3 times and then the life guard came and got me.. took me to the side of the pool.. asked me a bunch of questions and asked me if I wanted to go back in.

Yes, a few. Drowning, car crashes, oh and giving birth twice was close enough to death!
