Where I work, we've got them for about $9. This is actually a little higher than the price of a 10 gallon. But, we charge by what the manufacturer charges, and the 5s are a little more expensive than the 10s. Probably because 10 is a more common size - there's not much you can keep in a 5.
If you have any petstores around you, I'd recommend you check with them. Even if they don't have them in stock, the manager should be able to special-order one for you. If you get one on line, you'll spend about as much as the tank costs (or more) for shipping. If you order through your pet store, they will absorb the shipping cost.
If you don't mind used, you might want to look at http://www.freecycle.org/ - this is like an online "classifieds" by town or region. Everything is FREE!
If you still want to order online (and new) try this site. They're not a chain, but to e-business and have an incredible amount of aquarium supplies in stock:
http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/index.web - look along the left hand side - glass is under "specialty items". Acrylic is only available as a kit.

Umm you may want to try eBay because all the online stores I've seen only does kits and they're not the cheapest either. Or try a second hand place if you have a New Uses near you, they always have tanks.

Try hagen.com the should have a list of retailers in your area. they usually cost around $15.00. You might want to consider looking at 10 gallon aquariums instead. They are usually cheaper than a 5, and a better home for fish. (Larger tanks a better for the fish and easier to maintain)

By the time you pay for shipping, you're going to be spending twice as much as if you just went to a store and bought one.

The best website is either Petco or PetSmart. I prefer PetSmart a little bit better because of their selection.
