Well, you can decorate for both using the same bedding set, or show a little individuality by purchasing two totally different sets :) I would probably go with two different sets, personally, just to show uniqueness. Keeping the color scheme the same would be important - i.e blues / sage / yellows / primary. Sage works well for both girl and boy, as does yellow.
The best furniture for twins would be two of the single cribs (Cheaper) or a large round crib with the seperator. I always loved the pictures of the twins in the round cribs, it was like a womb setting, very neat. Or a large convertible crib with a seperator works too. You can get the seperators at any baby store. Or if your budget allows two convertible cribs, one changer, one 4-6 drawer dresser would be the perfect setting.
http://www.angelbabybedding.com has a discount for twins too, like buy one get one up to 50% off kind of deals - if you contact the owner and they have a ton of sets. so good luck!!

We had twin boys, and we went with the 'as little as possible' approach.
First you need to decide if you want 1 crib or two - our boys slept together in the crib until they were 18 months, and too big for the crib. They actually still sleep together (they're three), and every time we've tried to separate them (separate toddler beds, for instance), it just didn't work. Some twins sleep together until they are 4 - 5, or older. Some parents separate their twins almost immediately - it all depends on what works best for you and your family, and your parenting theories.
Finances is another consideration - you're going to have a lot of expenses, and it can be better used elsewhere than two expensive cribs.
A good - SOLID (not one of those wimpy ones) changing tables is an absolute must. Some of the more 'dainty' ones look very cute, but imagine changing a 30 lbs baby on one. You're going to be changing 16 diapers a day for what will seem like a very long time, and then continue to change 8 - 10 diapers a day for an even longer time. Save your back and energy for other things! The changing table was one of the best suggestions I received.
We went with a Noah's ark theme - bedding, wall decor, etc. All that was in our nursery was the crib, a glider/rocker and the changing table (all their clothes were in the closet). We had an Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper where they spent most of the first few weeks. We had it out in the living room for the most part (but it was portable enough to move to the bedroom or wherever when needed).
Have fun! You're going to LOVE being a twin mom!

I think the primary thing to think about, above and beyond colour schemes and so forth, is extreme practicality. Looking after twins is hard work - as chaotic as looking after one can be, looking after twins is much, much more so. So I think your primary concern in terms of their nursery, for when they're really small, is making sure it's easy to keep clean and tidy and to access everything you'll need.
Obviously, as they get bigger, they'll start to exert their own personalities and want their own space and their own things. For this reason it's probably worth having, for instance, two chests of drawers, for storage of their own personal things. (Plus, obviously, two babies equals more stuff needing to be stored equals more storage needed). I would also suggest two cots - even if you initially put them together in just one, you'll need a second one eventually.
In terms of bedding, quite honestly the way of things is that it's all going to need washing so often that I wouldn't worry overmuch. If you do feel that you want things matching in the nursery, or a particular colour scheme or design, then you may as well get lots of bedding all the same, purely because that way if one twin's bedding needs changing (for instance, if they threw up on it or their nappy leaked) then you won't need to change the other's clean bedding just for the sake of things matching. But not matching isn't the end of the world either... Maybe all-the-same bedding would also help in the early stages so you don't have to feel bad if you run short of clean stuff and end up giving Baby A one of Baby B's sheets in a bedding emergency - although as soon as they're old enough to have proper beds of their own I think it's only fair to let them have their own personal bedding, as a means of expressing their individuality. I justthink that with tiny babies there's so much sheet-changing needing to be done that you should make your lives as easy as possible!
In terms of design, though, I'd say that right now you may as well just indulge yourselves. I'm sure that within a few years the babies will be grown enough to want things decorating in their own personal style, so make the most of your chance...
Congratulations, and good luck!

i personally hate to see twins dressed alike or their bedding the same etc. they are still two different little people that will have two different personalities. at first of course you will be picking the things that they will wear, their bedding and toys etc.
just remember that variety is great, not everything must always be the same or match. depending on their own personalities you will be able to judge what things they like as they get older.

We are having 2 boys and are doing the Noahs Arc theme!!! We are putting the babies in the same crib because thats what our Pediatrician said is best for twins. They will keep eachother warm and simulate the womb.
