Okay so I don't have insurance right now until I start my new job so I going here to see if anyone has had these same symptoms. I started with a sore throat that has lasted over a month. My tonsils are huge but not red. I can't really swallow and its affected the way I talk. I have not had a fever. I don't know if this is related but when I got my period I got it three days early and it lasted four days longer than usual. I haven't really been feeling sick except maybe more tired than usual.

Sounds to me like you have strep throat!!!!! I have it all the time, get it at least 4 times a year, theonly thing that will take care of it is Anti-Biotics... Prolly amoxicillian which there are generics for it...

Try to gargle with warm salt water... that help ease the pain a bit... the longer you leave it go, the more scar tissue will build up from it. resulting in cutting off your air-way slightly.

It could be Mono which is also know as the kissing disease. It is very contagious and can make you very tired. You can catch it by kissing or just drinking after someone. It could also be strep or tonsillittis(?), but fever usually comes with those. See a doctor for antibiotics and ask for a shot of antibiotics and steroids. A shot will get in you system quicker than the pills, even though you may get both a shot and pills.

I wonder...do you have a bad taste in your mouth? Metalic like? Or Iron like? You could be anemic so then you would iron. If you have a bad taste it could be an infection which you would need antibiotics. If its metalic...you MUST go to the Dr. This could be an autoimmune disease. Also could you maybe be pregnant? I had something similar and turned out pregnant even with a period. They thought I had a UTI and I had soreness in my throat.

This is from my wife by the way. Good luck to you.

Insurance or not, borrow, beg, see a free doctor, ask your parents for a loan you need to see a doctor straight away. Any symptoms lasting over a month need treatment and from the sounds of your they are fairly serious!

Go to the drug store and ask the pharmacist for advice. She/he can give you meds to help. And they will be able to reccommend a free clinic in your area if they think you need medical attention.
