i often read about what the music industry people are looking for when they are listen to new songs and songwriters and they often talkin about the song having a commercial appeal or not...what is meant by that?

My thought is that it is referring to the song having Marketability, meaning most of the public will like the song, and will be able to be sold to ad companies so that the song can play in TV commercials or shows, ads, whatever they are wanting to market it to.
