if you are going to be at a resort there he thought our chances of getting Hepatitis A was One in 500,000 to One in a million.

There are anti-malaria medications, but they can have side effects. The U.S. Red Cross and CDC don't feel there is currently a significant malaria risk for those who stay in the tourist areas of the Punta Cana, so the side effects may outweigh the statistical benefit. Of course, it's a good idea to wear mosquito repellent any time you are in humid heavy vegetation.

People who are recommended to get the hepatitis vaccine (including those with compromised immune systems) should get it whether or not they travel. As far as whether you're in that group, that's a discussion for you and your doctor.

Not if you stay in the hotel area.....don't go sightseeing in the poor sections. Always drink water from bottles while outside the resort. In your resort, you'll be fine.

The weather will be great and the water beautiful.

Have a great time!!
