Events that occured under the Clinton Administration in regards to terrorism
-----
In 1993, the first World Trade Center bombing killed six people.
In 1998, the bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa killed 224.
... al-Qaida and bin Laden, who in 1998 declared holy war on America, making him arguably the most wanted man in the world.
fall of 2000, in Afghanistan, unmanned, unarmed spy planes called Predators flew over known al-Qaida training camps. The pictures that were transmitted live to CIA headquarters show al-Qaida terrorists firing at targets, conducting military drills and then scattering on cue through the desert.
the Predator captured even more extraordinary pictures — a tall figure in flowing white robes. Many intelligence analysts believed then and now it is bin Laden.
“We should have had strike forces prepared to go in and react to this intelligence, certainly cruise missiles — either air- or sea-launched — very, very accurate, could have gone in and hit those targets,” Downing added.
Gary Schroen, a former CIA station chief in Pakistan, says the White House required the CIA to attempt to capture bin Laden alive, rather than kill him.

President Omar Hassan Ahmed Bashir, who wanted terrorism sanctions against Sudan lifted, offered the arrest and extradition of Bin Laden and detailed intelligence data about the global networks constructed by Egypt's Islamic Jihad, Iran's Hezbollah and the Palestinian Hamas.
Among those in the networks were the two hijackers who piloted commercial airliners into the World Trade Center.
The two men who allegedly piloted the planes into the twin towers, Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi, prayed in the same Hamburg mosque as did Salim and Mamoun Darkazanli, a Syrian trader who managed Salim's bank
Important data on each had been compiled by the Sudanese.
But U.S. authorities repeatedly turned the data away, first in February 1996; then again that August,...
Gutbi had shown me some of Sudan's data during a three-hour meeting in Khartoum in October 1996. When I returned to Washington, I told Berger and his specialist for East Africa, Susan Rice, about the data available. They said they'd get back to me. They never did. Neither did they respond when Bashir made the offer directly.
In July 2000--three months before the deadly attack on the destroyer Cole in Yemen--I brought the White House another plausible offer to deal with Bin Laden, by then known to be involved in the embassy bombings. A senior counter-terrorism official from one of the United States' closest Arab allies--an ally whose name I am not free to divulge--approached me with the proposal after telling me he was fed up with the antics and arrogance of U.S. counter-terrorism officials.
an extradition process that would eventually deliver him to the U.S., required only that Clinton make a state visit there to personally request Bin Laden's extradition. But senior Clinton officials sabotaged the offer, letting it get caught up in internal politics within the ruling family--Clintonian diplomacy at its best.

he ordered the cruise missile strikes on an eastern Afghan camp in August 1998, after the CIA obtained intelligence that bin Laden might be there for a meeting of al Qaeda leaders
Yet the secret legal authorizations Clinton signed after this failed missile strike required the CIA to make a good faith effort to capture bin Laden for trial, not kill him outright.
There was little question that under U.S. law it was permissible to kill bin Laden and his top aides
The ban on assassinations -- contained in a 1981 executive order by President Ronald Reagan -- did not apply to military targets, the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel
Clinton's covert policy against bin Laden pursued two goals at the same time. He ordered submarines equipped with cruise missiles to patrol secretly in waters off Pakistan in the hope that CIA spotters would one day identify bin Laden's location confidently enough to warrant a deadly missile strike.
But Clinton also authorized the CIA to carry out operations that legally required the agency's officers to plan in almost every instance to capture bin Laden alive and bring him to the United States to face trial.
The CIA's senior managers believed officials at the White House wanted to have it both ways: They liked to blame the agency for its supposed lack of aggression, yet they sent over classified legal memos full of wiggle words.

Clinton ordered the military to pump as many as 20 Tomahawk missiles into what he said was a chemical-weapons plant in Sudan financed by bin Laden. It turned out to be a pill plant owned by a Saudi businessman to whom the administration later had to pay $1 million in interest for seizing his plant.
Clinton ordered another 60 or so Tomahawks launched against six camps near Khost, Afghanistan, where bin Laden operated with the blessing of the ruling Taliban militia.
None of them came close to hitting bin Laden.
Clinton refrained from a military response in 1996, when 19 U.S. airmen were killed in the terrorist bombing of the Khobar Towers barracks in Saudi Arabia. He also took no military action against terrorists last year for blowing a hole in the USS Cole in Yemen. The blast killed 17 sailors.
the Clinton administration "wanted court-quality evidence before they'd go forward" and retaliate, said a Pentagon anti-terrorism official.

In December 1992, bin Laden found the battle he'd been waiting for. The United States was leading a UN-sanctioned rescue mission into Somalia.
When the Marines landed in the last days of 1992, bin Laden sent in his own soldiers, armed with AK-47's and rocket launchers.
The yearlong American rescue mission for starving Somalians went from humanitarian effort to quagmire in just three weeks. Another superpower humiliated. Another bin Laden victory.
Ramzi Yousef was seen in Manila with another of bin Laden's associates, Afghan war hero Wali Khan Amin Shah. They were busy planning to blow up a dozen American jetliners over the Pacific.
he was ordered to survey the routes that President Clinton would be using during an official state visit to the Philippines.
Last winter, Khan,...patiently explaining to the feds that the mercury found in his apartment in Manila was not for bomb making but was rather to be placed inside the bullets that would be used to shoot President Clinton. "That way," Khan said, "if the shot didn't kill him, he would die by poisoning."
I asked bin Laden if he had tried to kill Clinton. "As I said, every action elicits a similar reaction," he explained. "What does Clinton expect from those that he killed, assaulting their children and mothers?"
"It does not make a difference if the government wants you to stay or leave. You will leave when the youth send you in wooden boxes and coffins. And you will carry in them the bodies of American troops and civilians. This is when you will leave."
Civilians?
"We do not differentiate between those dressed in military uniforms and civilians; they are all targets in this fatwa." Bin Laden
The day after the American counterstrike, an ABC News colleague in Pakistan got a call from Ayman al-Zawahiri, who had been at the camp with us that night. Al-Zawahiri said bin Laden was alive and very well and that he had a message for us:
"The war has just started. The Americans should wait for the answer."
[ this was after Clinton's failed bomb raid on Osama's campground.. and before Clinton revised his plan to capturing Osama alive.. A year before 9/11 ]

Five days later, Erwa again met with the CIA operative.
Sudan offered to arrest and turn over bin Laden at this meeting, according to Erwa. He brought up bin Laden directly.
When Sudan turned over the infamous Carlos the Jackal to French intelligence in 1994, the CIA covertly provided satellite intelligence that allowed Sudanese intelligence to capture him on a pretext and escort him to the VIP lounge at the Khartoum airport. There, he was met by armed members of French intelligence and flown to Paris
The CIA officer was silent.
Finally, the CIA official spoke. "We have nothing we can hold him on," he carefully said. Erwa was surprised by this
Sudan's files on bin Laden and his network were extensive. Sudan had dossiers on all of bin Laden's financial transactions, every fax he sent
nd every one of bin Laden's terrorist associates and his dubious visitors. If Sudan's surveillance was as good as Erwa claimed, bin Laden's entire global terrorist network would be laid bare. And the CIA would be able to track the movements of his foot soldiers and lieutenants across the Middle East.
There were good reasons to believe that Sudan was serious about taking action against bin Laden. . .
President Bashir was in the midst of a power struggle against Hassan al-Turabi, the Islamist leader. Bin Laden supported Turabi with cash and a potential armed cadre of Muslim militants.
Over the next few months and years, Sudan would repeatedly try to provide its voluminous intelligence files on bin Laden to the CIA, the FBI, and senior Clinton Administration officials
Washington Times investigative reporter Bill Gertz uncovered a memo written only a few months after Sudan offered its intelligence on bin Laden. The July 1, 1996, CIA memo was marked "TOP SECRET UMBRA,"
We have no unilateral sources close to bin Laden, nor any reliable way of intercepting his communications," the report said. "We must rely on foreign intelligence services to confirm his movements and activities."

Osama Bin Laden (Interview Answers)
"As I said, our boys were shocked by the low morale of the American soldier and they realized that the American soldier was just a paper tiger. He was unable to endure the strikes that were dealt to his army, so he fled"
" Our boys no longer viewed America as a superpower. So, when they left Afghanistan, they went to Somalia and prepared themselves carefully for a long war."
"America stopped calling itself world leader and master of the new world order, and its politicians realized that those titles were too big for them and that they were unworthy of them. I was in Sudan when this happened. I was very happy to learn of that great defeat that America suffered, so was every Muslim...."

Here's a rundown. The Clinton administration:
1. Did not follow-up on the attempted bombing of Aden marines in Yemen.
2. Shut the CIA out of the 1993 WTC bombing investigation, hamstringing their effort to capture bin Laden.
3. Had Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, a key bin Laden lieutenant, slip through their fingers in Qatar.
4. Did not militarily react to the al Qaeda bombing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
5. Did not accept the Sudanese offer to turn bin Laden.
6. Did not follow-up on another offer from Sudan through a private back channel.
7. Objected to Northern Alliance efforts to assassinate bin Laden in Afghanistan.
8. Decided against using special forces to take down bin Laden in Afghanistan.
9. Did not take an opportunity to take into custody two al Qaeda operatives involved in the East African embassy bombings. In another little scoop, I am able to show that Sudan arrested these two terrorists and offered them to the FBI. The Clinton administration declined to pick them up and they were later allowed to return to Pakistan.
10. Ordered an ineffectual, token missile strike against a Sudanese pharmaceutical factory.
11. Clumsily tipped off Pakistani officials sympathetic to bin Laden before a planned missile strike against bin Laden on August 20, 1998. Bin Laden left the camp with only minutes to spare.
12-14. Three times, Clinton hesitated or deferred in ordering missile strikes against bin Laden in 1999 and 2000.
15. When they finally launched and armed the Predator spy drone plane, which captured amazing live video images of bin Laden, the Clinton administration no longer had military assets in place to strike the archterrorist.
16. Did not order a retaliatory strike on bin Laden for the murderous attack on the USS Cole.

ALL IN ALL...
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006...
"the director of the CIA, George Tenet, said he could not recommend the attack because the information from his one source wasn't good enough.
CIA officers in the field disagreed. And the 9/ll Commission report calls the third of those aborted attacks, Kandahar, May 1999, the last, most likely best chance to get bin Laden."
"Efforts by Richard Clarke to get the U.S. military to bomb the growing al Qaeda training camps were rejected, with generals deriding them as jungle-gym camps, not worth wasting a million dollar missile."
Well...
I guess, all in all, stopping Osama Bin Laden.. to Clinton.. was "not worth wasting a million dollar missile."
------------
President Clinton's "brilliant" policies and decisions that Bush "regretfully" lacks..
Clinton's "Oil-For-Food Program" adopted by the U.N.-
"
The introduction of the Oil-For-Food program (OFF) in late 1996 was a key turning point for the Regime.
------------------------------...
OFF rescued Baghdad's economy from a terminal decline created by sanctions. The Regime quickly came to see that OFF could be corrupted to acquire foreign exchange both to further undermine sanctions and to provide the means to enchance dual-use infrastructure and potential WMD-related development.
"
"
The probes follow on the heels of an assessment by the U.S. General Accounting Office, released in April 2004, which found that Hussein collected $10.1 billion in illegal oil revenues from 1997 to 2002. This consisted of $5.7 from oil smuggled out of Iraq and $4.4 billion from illicit surcharges and kickbacks from suppliers. Most of this money went toward illegal procurement and propping up Saddam's regime.
"
"
Former American fugitive Marc Rich was a middleman for several of Iraq's suspect oil deals in February 2001, just one month after his pardon from President Clinton, according to oil industry shipping records obtained by ABC News.
"
"
Rich, probers immediately zeroed in on his ex-wife Denise, who had donated more than $1 million to Democratic campaigns - including Hillary Clinton's first Senate race - during the same period that Rich was doing business with Saddam.
"
-->
"
Rich's ex also ponied up $450,000 for Clinton's library and donated the max to the Clintons' defense fund.

There are two arguments against the Clinton's specifically Bill. Most people who disagree or disliked Clinton was because of his moral behavior and his response to terrorist acts.
First and foremost, many women have accused Bill Clinton of extramarital affairs, the most famous ones being Monica Lewinsky and Paula Jones. But there have been at least 4 other women (that the public knows of) who claimed to have had sexual relations with Bill.
Secondly, is the terrorist acts of 1993 and 1998 when the World Trade Center was first bombed followed by bombings of US Embassies abroad. Islamic terrorist attacks against US interests have been apart of US history since about 1973. The recent uproar and "uptick" in Islamic terrorism did not start with Bill Clinton's presidency. It can be more attributed to George W. Bush's father, George H. Bush, presidency.
Bill Clinton has a very positive TV persona. He was seen as smart, charismatic, fun-loving and approachable. However, Hillary has only one of those traits, and that is smart. Many see her as calculating and abrasive.

I don't believe that it is a true perception that a majority of people dislike the Clinton's. Had there not been presidential term limits, Bill Clinton would still be President. Even with the Monica scandal, Bush would not have been able to defeat Clinton due to his popularity with the majority of Americans. The only group which continues to attack the Clintons are Republican white males. Since they control all of the major media outlets, this is the perception that they want to protray as the view of the masses.
Ironically, the Bush administration has destroyed the future of generations of Americans by corruption and blatant mismanagement creating a massive deficit and trapping us in an unprovoked civil war in Iraq for years to come, yet these same Republican males will try to convence people that Bill Clinton's sexual activities did the country more harm.

As the other guys stated, where should I start. Clinton's are nothing more than big fat liars! He single handily went out of his way to destroy our military. As one Ret. Air Force Col. put it, if Clinton was held to the same standards as officers are in the military, he would have been charge with treason. The Black Hawk Down wouldn't of happen the way it did IF clinton knew how to LEAD as a Commander and Chief. And that just covers ONE issue of many.

Spell check not working and as you see I'm not a good speller.
Don't believe in making empty accuzations. So, let me give you some facts.
Lets start with lied during campaign - "I smoked MJ but didn't inhale".
No morals - adultry in his office, and sexual harassment (supprised any female would like him).
Lies under oath during White Water investigation. Lies while testifing in front of congress and court.
Poor example for young military personal. He was commander and chief - if he can do it why not the young troops. This caused disapline problems and morale problems in the military.
Coward - China captured one of our planes and imprisoned the crew. Billy Boy did nothing to get our troops or the plane back. He waited until China was willing to give them back. Embassees blown up and didn't go after the group that did it. Showed the world that they could push the US around and get away with it.
Don't like Hillary for many of the same reasons.
Hillary is won't stand up to Billy and his adulty. Why would I think she will stand up to anyone attacking this country.
Hillary will say she support troops then stand up with Hanoi Jane at a ralley.
Hillary will say she support military and then cut medical benefits.
Hillary will say she supports war and then say Bush made up intelligence reports to justify going to war.
They show Hillary touring Iraq. What they don't show is the military that got pulled off thier missions so they could guard her. Or the tax dollars spent on her personal body guards.
Hillary says she supports human rights and then wants to pull out of Iraq. Guess she only means human rights for Americans.
I could go on but the bottom line is I don't like liers and both Clintons have done nothing but lie since I first saw them on TV back in 1991.
I also don't like thier scam on the American people. I'm sure you've heard about them buying mansion in New York so Hillary could be senator. Now the rent they charge the secret service for use of cottage in the back yard equals the morgage payment for mansion. Don't know how to prove this as truth. But, don't see them deniing it either. And they will deny anything with a "I don't remember."

Read the answer I gave on the same question you just asked. Also to add to it..... I don't agree with what other people are saying about Bush. Why is it that people like Clinton with everything wrong he did? While we have a good Christian President and everyone comes against him. I think that people are just afraid of what would REALLY happen if Bush was allowed to do EVERYTHING that GOD tells him to do. He has done a great job as far as I am concerned. PRAISE GOD for what he has done during his term in office.

where shall I begin (and that is all you will get, is just the beginning)
BECAUSE THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!
Lets see, they have unarguably been the most corrupt first family in the whitehouse.
Look up whitewater real estate fraud, and you will see their partners were convicted of fraud, but given presidential pardons so they would not have to testify against the clintons.
Look up the people clinton pardoned in his last hours of office. It is true that every president has pardoned people, but none the likes of the clinton pardonee's. they include several cocaine smugglers (not affiliated with one another) whose family members made donations to clinton family members. The lists lessor crimes include many other government fraudsters associated with the clinton family:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton_pardons_controversy
but the worse are violent offenders.
Also look up bill clintons office rental controversy. You will find that he originally tried to get taxpayers to pay 700k a year for his office space, http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2001-01-31-clinton.htm
He settled for a cheaper place, but it was still more rent than all the living presidents (at that time, included ford) office rents combined.
---
He made a mochary of our judicial system. While being investigated for sexual ASSAULT AND MISCONDUCT, he lied to a grand jury! That is no small matter! I could care less about him getting a hummer, but to stare into the camera while talking to the entire country, and flat out lying to protect his own skin, tells me he is willing to lie about some more important issues to protect his own skin (real estate fraud, for example)
He ignored direct terrorist attacks on the United States, including bombings of U.S. embassies, the world trade center bombing, and the U.S.S. cole.
NOW LETS TALK ABOUT THE MISSLE DELIVERY SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY HE SOLD TO CHINA. There is one that won't come back to haunt us......(sigh)

Compared to this president, anything Clinton did was child play. And I don't think so many really do hate Clinton.
In comparison to Bush, if a poll were taken he would win hands down.. even the cons can't argue with that.

Gosh... where does one start? For starters, they are ego maniacs, power-hungry, bent on the destruction of our country, the demise of our military, a "one-world" government, (in which they would lead!), anti-Christian, pro-gay, pro-open borders, con-artists, and if that's not enough... she has a violent temper and a highly vulgar mouth, and he is a sweet-talking egocentric perverted sex maniac! If this isn't enough, then I suggest you read their biography by their once top secret service agent, (I forget the name of it right now), but it really opens ones eyes to the atrocious acts these two have committed against our country as a whole! You people gotta get educated, do your homework and realize what's going on in our government or we'll all surely perish!!!
