Probably not more but the mobile roadblocks they create are infuriating. If they get their kicks out of wearing lycra shorts and sticking their bums in the air, that's their business but it is not something that should be inflicted on an unwilling audience. When I did my driving test there was a rule that cyclists could not cycle more that 2 abreast. It would be nice to see that enforced if it is still the law.

As an ex racing cyclist , and an advanced motorist who does 40,000 miles a year I find this question rather irritating.

Firstly the vast majority of club cyclists set a good example on the road and don't break the law, like any group there are good and bad. I bet you also hate those motorcyclists that break the speed limit too.

The reason club cyclists ride two abreast is for safety. If they were in single file then impatient motorists will just try and squeeze through regardless of what is coming the other way.Of course they don't care because they are only putting the cyclists life in danger not their own.

Try not to be so impatient After all you are the one sat on your fat **** with your foot on the gas.Try learning to overtake properly, finding 2nd gear is a start and plan your overtake. In my opinion this kind of motorist also makes a complete hash out of passing tractors, caravans and other road hazards safely.

I got forced off the road once but the guy lived to regret it.I had him in court with loads of witnesses and with the legal cover included with my racing licence I sued the **** off him.

I myself am an avid cyclist and prefer to ride rather than put more pollution in the air with my car, however, the cycling club people are excessive even to me!! It's like they are in a cult and want to make everyone in the city one of them - these crazy bicyclers who think they are so anarchistic because they don't drive. I wish they would put that energy into curing AIDS in Africa or helping abused children.

Once a person climbs into a steel cage, ignorance for the beauty of there surroundings takes over, Tuck your jeans in your socks next Sunday and get on your bike, to experience the total knob heads who drive so close to a single rider, it`s scary. Once in a group they are safer. As for" mobile road blocks" How much space would you give a horse, remember it can kick your prized steel cage.

I happen to be a member of one of those A***** clubs. The Red Knights a group of fire fighters, there is also the Blue Knights police officers. When you get hurt in a car accident remind the first responders that they must all be A*****s.

I must say I hate arrogant motoring a**holes rather more. Encasing yourself in a couple of tons of steel doesn't actually render you more important than anyone else.
