Oh how the Mighty have fallen!!! Since their resurgence in the late ninties when they won four world series in five years...the Yankees have collapsed...and are closing in on the Atlanta Braves record of being ousted from the playoffs ten years in a row by eight different teams. The Yankees have been eliminated in the last six years by five different teams. Among them the Awesome Arizona Diamondbacks; the Fearsome Florida Marlins; and the always Dangerous Detroit Tigers. Who will extend the streak this year? Will it be the Devil Rays? The Brewers? or maybe the Awesome Kansas City Royals? Any guesses?

I'll say the AL wild card team. Naming an NL team implies they'll win the pennant.

They're going in the season with no better chance than any other team, and they'll earn any series they win, just like anyone else.

No team is automatic... Yankees fans can learn a lesson from the Braves. They're in a competitive division, and will need to face the winner of the Central sometime. And if that happens, it'll be a fair fight.

an element of me somewhat needs to declare the purple Sox. i don't choose to verify them win yet another international series and having them out of the playoffs thoroughly assures that. besides the undeniable fact that, i might somewhat like, love, like to stand them interior the ALCS this year. in the event that they at the instant are not interior the playoffs, this could't take place. i think of i might flow with removing the Angels. That way it would assure the Yanks does not could desire to stand them interior the playoffs.

None other than their arch rival, the Red Sox...Dice K is looking like the real deal so far...Schilling is Schilling at 40+years old...looking more like 30...Papelbon is moving to starter, which, like Dice K, will be the unknown of the season until it happens...They still have Ortiz and Ramirez, their two best power hitters...The additions to the batting lineup will be huge...
