We have to focus on the interpretations of the historians and not on the history and i'm having a lot of trouble with the thesis.
Thesis:
George Mowry takes an all around view on the progressives, whereas Hutchmacher, Kolko, and Scott view progressives as one group of people; businessmen, American industrial workers, and the lower class citizens in need respectively.

Not bad but if I were marking it I would circle "all around" and write "vague" beside it as a criticism. Tighten it up. What exactly are you saying about Mowry? "For Mowry, unlike so many other historians, the Progressives were not a group of people but a complex, protean, phenomenon." How's that?
Oh and if you have not looked at it Glenda Gilmore's book "Who Were the Progressives?" it is excellent.
Good luck.

What you have to do is have a look at the background of the historians themselves. Also try to find out the sources of information
they used or had access to.Their lifes experiences in their formative years may give you an insight on how they interpret things.
