My boyfriend of 15 months and I just broke up. Since before I had meet him, I have smoked. Being as he doesnt smoke, he has a problem with it. After we broke up he has gone to parties at friends houses and drink the whole night. My father is an alcoholic, i have delt with all the horror that comes with it. Because of alcohol, growing up was rough, and my father was either in jail, or causing trouble. Now that my heart is broken, and the guy i love is out doing the same, is it wrong of me to think its a bad decision? After all, im still smoking, and hes drinking. The part that bothers me is through out our relationshp he promised he would never drink again, that it was stupid. Do you think he doesnt care about me anymore? Or does he just want to have some fun?

well if he quit drinking for you and then u dumped him and now hes drinking again. that would make sense. he figures why does he have to stay sober if ur gone anyways. and you didnt quit smoking for him. its called compromise darlyn. u say i quit smokin u quit drinkin. if u loose the relationship what would stop u from lighting up smoke. probably nothing other than u might just not want it. same goes for his drinking. he looks at it like whats the point when u took his reason for not away/

if you cannot deal with the alcohol, then dont get with him anymore, and move on... he IS a burgeoning alcoholic
