You are no couch potato. I have had three children and I did yoga for only 30 minutes a day and walked to Wal-Mart (about 6 blocks) three times a week. I only gained a total of 12 pounds with my first, 15 with my second, and 13 with my third. My sister, on the other hand, never excercised or walked with any of her three children, and put on about 50 pounds with each.
Remember to eat a healthy diet, (stay away from all the junk food.) Your body will thank you. :)

Exercising during pregnancy is brilliant. You'll feel happier afterwards and if you're anything like me this will stop you venting some of your pregnancy driven outbursts on your nearest and dearest.
I joined a gym last month at 32 weeks. Before pregnancy I used to run 2 miles several times per week. Everyone thought that I was crazy to join, but the gym offers ante and post natal exercise classes which is great. The classes are free and it gives me the opportunity to make friends with other yummy mummies.
As a bonus the gym has a creche, so I can get back in shape afterwards and have my little darling nearby. I'm also looking forward to taking him to the parent and baby swim classes.

Before I found out I was pregnant I would go to the gym 3 times a week but when I found out, I only go maybe 2 times a week and I was told only to do walking and light weight stuff, not to get my heart rate above 140. I know pregnant people that don't do anything but sit on the couch and eat and watch TV. Yeah try getting that baby weight off after pregnancy!LOL.
Well just do whats healthy for the baby and you.
Good luck

No, I walk about 1 mile a day and swim for about 30 to 60 minutes. As long as you listen to your body and its signals, then it is great. No that does not sound like you are a couch potato. If you notice you are extremely exhausted after your workout you are probably pushing yourself to hard.

I played indoor soccer once a week until I was about six months, both pregnancies.
I also commuted to and from work via bicycle, Or parked the car 1/2 to one mile away from work and walked when I had to drive for some reason. I did that right up until delivery.
I did yoga once a week.
And I did normal stuff, like walking the dog.

i don't think couch potatoes do pilates lol. yes i work out. i had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy so i needed the exercise. i may have diabetes again w/this pregnancy so i will be exercising and changing my diet again.
it's okay to exercise as long as your not working your abs. walking or light cardio is great, i love yoga (but i skip the abdominal stretching) in the evenings it really helps relax me before bed.

it fairly is marvelous which you fairly decide for to stay healthful, yet once you're no longer used to universal exercising, then now's no longer the time to commence. it could be undemanding to overdo it and placed too plenty stress on your physique. a good walk huge-unfold is a superb thank you to inspire good flow and supply you a cardiac exercising consultation. confirm you're ingesting lots of water. additionally, evaluate being pregnant Yoga. It starts out very sluggish and has some rather spectacular respiration concepts which will help surprisingly in exertions. good success.

You are doing great!
I went swimming 4-5 evenings during pregnancy. The water took all the weight off my back and it was a wonderful form of exercise.
My doc said that was plenty.

You should do the same level of exercise you did before you were pregnant. Starting heavy exercise after becoming pregnant can be bad for you and baby.
