A source close to the team says the Steelers are leaning towards drafting G Justin Blalock of Texas with the 15th pick in the draft. The Steelers will try to beef up the line with this athletically gifted lineman to protect Ben Rothlisberger. He is listed at the top of the list of linemen. Later on in the draft the team will probably concentrate on center (to replace Jeff Hartings), LB and CB.

DE/OLB Anthony Spencer of Purdue. The scheme new head coach Mike Tomlin plans to use will likely dictate which route the Steelers go with this pick. Nebraska's Adam Carriker makes a good deal of sense due to his versatility, but if the Steelers elect to stick with the 3-4 scheme, they'll need an infusion of pass rushing outside linebackers with starters Joey Porter gone and Clark Haggans coming off a sub-par 2006 season.
