a lot of people think they know what they're going to concentrate in even before they go to med school. often times they change their mind. most people figure it out when they start residency and move around from area to area. you should worry about getting in to med school and keeping up your grades and studying and seeing what interests you the most. don't settle the first two years and keep an open mind. good luck to you!

Only you can answer that question. You have to find something that you have a passion for to go through all of that training. Fortunately in medical school, you will be exposed to all the specialties in depth and be able to sort out what really grabs you. I wanted to be in whatever specialty I was rotating though until I found my favorite. I didn't want to be a pediatrician because I constantly had a sore throat while working with them as out-patients in the clinic, and, at that time, there was no cure for leukemia, and I was seeing kids die all the time as in-patients. Good luck.

You should get it in a field you enjoy. Life is too short to work in a field of medicine someone picked for you. Try several different fields while in medical school during the rotations to see which field you enjoy the best. Another idea is volunteering at a hospital and work in the different wards. Good luck!

Getting an MD degree is not for everyone, even if you are super bright. It is NOT for the faint of heart, you will see and do a lot of things which will make some people puke. It is not meant to be a means of making money only, it is meant to better humanity.

explain your answer. why should we? you sound so bossy. only you can decide what you should get an MD in, because it is your life and if you dont truly love what you do, you will be miserable, even if you are a doctor.

i wanted to be an OB/GYN but my funds ran out at school so i switched to nursing. OB/GYN's have a very lucrative career as well as a great future, since people will always be having babies and female problems.

My husband has changed his mind several times throughout med. school. First it was Cardiology, then it was Pathology, and then Psychiatry. Once he started doing rotations in different fields he found that his interests changed, as will yours.

psychology because you help people and it's better than wanting to be an arrogant medical doctor like that's the only doctor that should get respect. a job is one that you do because of helping others, not social status.

i think this for you to decide because whatever interests you may not interest anyone else. so please, when you make a life decision like this, pick something of your choice that you know you will enjoy!
