For all you folks out there that have seen "Wicked" Is it a good play or musical? I am going to see it in 3 weeks and I am wondering if I should buy the CD before I see it to get to know the music. PLEASE HELP!!!

Yes - definitely DO buy and listen to the CD before you see the show. There is a LOT going on onstage, and it will be easier to understand if you already have an idea of what is going on and know some of the words to the songs (especially if you end up sitting next to one of those really rude and evil people who talks or sings along throughout the performance). There are a few things not included on the CD because it would spoil some fun surprises, but it will help you not get lost during most of the show.

The first time I heard the music for "Wicked", I did NOT like it (that's actually not unusual for me). After I had listened to it a few times, I really started enjoying it, and now that I have seen the show, it is one of my favorites! I strongly recommend giving yourself a little time in advance to get to know the music before putting the 'picture' with it. Enjoy!

The music from Wicked is probably the best music I've heard ever!!! I love all the songs but Defying Gravity and I'm Not That Girl definitly get the cd! I got the cd before seeing it and didn't regret it at all. u are so lucky you get to see it!

I LOVED IT! The music, the dialouge, EVERYTHING I drunk right up! I had the CD before I saw it, and I think it helped because I had a pretty good idea about what was going on, and I had fun partially "singing along" from my seat.... but it's still perfectly understandable, even w/out knowing the songs... Maybe you should buy a few of them off iTunes. (I would recommend Popular, What is this Feeling, and Dancing Through Life!!!)

Well from your name I am suspecting that you are from California. If so, I have some things to tell you. First of all, it is a musical and it is the greatest musical ever!!If you buy the soundtrack i guarantee that the people singing it are from Broadway. I live in CHicago and when I went to go see it after listening to the music it was odd because in every city the actors sing it differently. So, its your call. I would'nt buy the music until after. It's more of a surprise. The soundtrack gives away the whole musical!!!
