you start at 1 cent,it dobles to 2 then 4 then 8
by the 8th day you would have 1 dollar and 28 cents,by day 10 you would have 5 dollars and 12 cents

would you take the job ,why or why not
if so how much would you have on the 30th day

absolutely, day 30 would net in excess of 5 million dollars, the sum for all 20 days is in excess of 10 million.

If any employer out there is willing to offer employment on this basis, please contact me. I'd like to retire next year.

1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + 64 = $1.27
(128 + 256 + 512 + 1024 + 2048 + 4096 + 8192 + 16384) / 100 =
$326.40 + $1.27 = $327 in the first 15 days, that's not bad.
But it gets problematic quick after this, I would be sure to get this in writing and have an attorney review it long before I start working my first day because most employers don't have the kind of money required to pay for the entire offer, as this shows:
$327 + 655 + 1310 + 2621 + 5243 + ...
See, we're up to just over $10,000 in less than 5 more days...
And it gets worse fast for the employer, real fast:
10486 + 20972 + 41944 + 83888 + 167,776 = ~ 330 thousand by the 25th day.

Keep in mind I'm rounding so as not to run out of space (both on my calculator and here), the employer can keep the change that falls to the side from doing this:

$10,720,000, hmm....

Well, I'm not sure I think I lost track of something but it's either 5 or 10 million, more or less, I don't care just make it 5 million even and the attorney and the employer can split the change however they like, but I need some kind of concrete guarantee that I will get paid, because for this I'll go to prison for life if they shaft me.

But yeah, I'll take the job.
