Don't americans know how much better communism is? Just look at the wonderful success that china has been! Sure, Mao Zedong had to weed out a few bad apples, but overall the great leap forward was a smashing success! Think of it, no more war, lots of money for everyone. No more racism or inequality. No more jews. Freedom of speech for everyone and the freedom to think however you wish. No more conservatives. No more hatred or sadness or pain or disease! All you have to do is vote democrat in '08 and we're almost there! But for some reason, some "people" don't want this to happen. We call them conservatives. They hold jews on the same par as people and worship this unicorn in the sky or something. They use mind control to make people vote for them and send hurricanes to kill people who don't. (Look at katrina, killed many democrat voters. Coincidence?) So I wanna know, why is america not communist when communism is so wonderfu?

Surrounded, communism is my historical expertise. I'm even writing a book on it. I'm one of those scholars you're telling me I should look to. Just by statistics, I'm willing to bet you can't even tell me which four members of the Politburo voted for stalin and which three against. Odds are you've never heard of dialectical materialism and wouldn't know the two philosophers that spawned it inadvertaintly nor the man that helped Marx develop marxism. I'm also willing to bet you've never heard of the failed overthrow attempt of the austrailian government in the 1950's or the difference between a traveler and a socialist. If there's anything at all that I know, and I mean anything, its communism.
Besides, satire is meant to mock faulty logic with faulty logic. So guess what I did?

Uhhh.... I appreciate your strained effort at satire (at this rate, you might even understand irony someday!), but you really do need to put some effort into it. Being even remotely informed about the target of your invective would help a lot. Why don't you pop down to your local library (no doubt staffed and funded by communists) and read a book or two on what communism really is. When you've digested all of Marx, Trotsky, and Lenin, then maybe you can come back to your computer and type out a crudely sarcastic condemnation of the Democrats (who - as you will learn - are not even remotely left-wing, never mind 'communist'). Alternately, if you really want a serious answer to the question of why the US does not have a strong socialist political voice, then those of us who have spent our academic careers trying to answer exactly this question might write you 80 000 words or so on the subject. Sound good to you?

I hope this question is a joke because everyone knows that communism doesn't work. Just look at what happened to the Soviet Union. And how could you possibly think that you are allowed to think however you wish in communism. No more Jews! If your serious about this question you are an idiot.

Oh man the satire is lost because that's exactly what your phoney government does to you - only they wrap it up in the flag and send in down the cable networks at you.
Tyranny has many names but don't think that yours is any better or any different than the rest. The amazing thing is that you can't see it for what it is.

China WAS a communist state, but they are no evolving to a kind of hybrid capitalistic state.
The only real Communist governments left are North Korea and Cuba...why don;t you move there is you think it is so grand,. Venezula has a commie president, but his policies deployed in a capitalistic country are causing hyperinflation. He'll likely fail.
Read your history my friend, the communist revolutions in the world were miserable and failed. Greed and dictatorship almost always superceeded the benefits of communism.

Think you mean the US and United Statesians, not America or Americans.
You see, there is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.
It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesians.
Also, although some people would like to believe that America is not one but two continents, North America and South America. If you think about it though, the term U.S. of A. is a glaring example that this line of thought is incorrect, if America was two continents instead of one, shouldn’t it be U.S. of N.A. (North America)? We say Columbus discovered..... ? AMERICA, not South America or North America.
Lastly, while everybody in America from Nome to Patagonia, from Easter Island to Greenland is an American, not every United Statesian is an American. For instance, Hawaiians are as United Statesians as they come, but they ARE NOT Americans, they are Pacific Islanders.
Hope that helps.
