We've worked in several hospitals around the country and none of them offered free child care for anyone!

No, It is by certain hospitals or organizations that run them. They may have a list of daycares that give a discount to hospital workers. Check with human resource department to see whats offered.

i work at a hospital and daycare is not free- it cost about the same if not more that local day care in my area- Spartanburg SC
I don't think there are many employers that offing "free" daycare.
