generally no, the best advice is to invest in a 10 gallon tank which should be no more then about 10 dollars and are easier to maintain since with more water, there will be less drastic changes in the water chemistry. Of course there is the added bonus of being able to add more fish. I wouldn't advise this for a 5 gallon becuase of its small size, but overcrowding can be attained by proper maintenance and frequent water changes

I would not put anymore fish in a 5 gallon tank. A 10 to 20 gallon would give you better room & is actually easier to care for. The smaller the amount of water the easier to mess up! In a 10 to 20 gallon ou could keep a nice school of barbs. They are fun to watch & are happier in schools of 5 or more.

No I don't think you can add more fish. In fact you may have problems already as other people have pointed out.

If you could manage an upgrade to a bigger tank you and your fish would be happier.

ABSOLUTELY NO! YOU HAVE THE LIMIT FOR THIS TANK AND SHOULD HAVE AERATION AND A FILTERS. IF YOU DON'T GET THEM IMMEDIATELY AND PUTTHESE FISH IN A TEN GALLON AT THE VERY LEAST!

That's pretty well maxed out for a 5 gallon.
