The processor is an Intel Pentium D 945 Presler Processor and the Motherboard is an EVGA Nvidia nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard.

Assuming that your motherboard supports the slower processor, maybe, but why would you want to? It will slow your PC way down.

Go to the EVGA website and check out the specs for the MoBo FIRST. Don't try to install the slower processor, it could blow up!

The specs of your motherboard for reminiscence are as follows: reminiscence reminiscence form DDR SDRAM variety of reminiscence Slots 2 x 184 Pin DIMMs Supported RAM speeds 333 MHz • 266 MHz • 2 hundred MHz Max Supported RAM 2 GB decrease than reminiscence form it states that it in simple terms helps DDR reminiscence. So the respond is that it does no longer help DDR2 reminiscence.

If the chip fits and you have the abililty to turn down the bus speed to 800 mhz manualy or automattically it will work. However, when I went to the site, I'm having doubts. I wouldn't bet on it unless you're willing to have a backup CPU that is capable of this bus speed.
