I'd have to say Ken Stott, (Red Metcalfe & Pat Chappell), in The Vice, and Messiah etc. Also Jim Taggart (Mark McManus) was much better than this guy who's in Taggart now lolol

I'm going with Inspector Konrad Sejer of Karin Fossum's series.

Although I'm rather fond of Ruth Rendell's Inspector Wexford as well.
