Personally I can't stand these guys, because they make the game too easy for everyone. I admit I take the game a little too seriously, and do a lot of reasearch before my draft, only to find the "Experts" eventually release the same information to everyone else. If you follow the rankings you can get a pretty good team and spoil someone elses season. Every year, the "Experts" tell you who should do good, who should do bad, who's a sleeper, what round to pick them in, etc. If you had to figure this out on your own, the game would be a lot more realistic and competitive. Personally, I would be a lot happier if they just did away with the rankings so that you would have to evaluate the players yourself. What do you all think?

I rely on these guys. If an average player follows their advice, they usually have a decent team. But with no knowledge of how they got a decent team, they won't understand how to analyze their own fantasy team needs. Don't understand how to balance their team (speed, power, pitching). And are clueless what to do when someone slumps or gets hurt. I almost always play in custom leagues and most people don't realize that their rankings are based an std 5x5 scoring. It took one league 2 years to figure out why Andruw Jones was always on my exclude list and I bypassed him every year - we count K's and Avg in H2H. They listen to Top 100 or whatever lists without understanding how to draft or build a team. There is more to it than taking the next available guy - I also like how I can make them do things in a draft, panick and take a player too early (like 3 catchers in the 3rd round)... LOL. They wouldn't understand how I could let the 1B position go unfilled until round 15 or not take a pitcher until 7th round. Filling a fantasy team is more than just drafting great players it's about drafting to generate the most points in the most categories. That would be easy if you just got to pick all the players you wanted from the start. But most people who spend their time looking at those 1-100 player charts don't understand that sometimes the player you need on your roster to complete a stat is not on that list or is further down or can be filled on an as needed basis from the waiver wire. So for me, having people look at the list means that I know where they are getting their information, what information it is and what they are going to do with that information and it gives me an advantage.

I agree or else make seperate leagues like one for guys who do all their own research and ones that dont.I dont draft based on the list. So far I have stayed away from guys like Texiera, Miguel Cabrera, Guerrero, Ortiz, and Howard while taking guys with some similar numbers like David Wright and Carlos Beltran. I think that their lists are sometimes wrong though. Players that use the lists may be beginners though or dont know too much about baseball. While guys pick power guy after power guy(like Andruw Jones and Adam Dunn) I will take smaller faster guys like beltran, wells, soriano, and bay. I like a more versatile team so I can also change positions. I have had lots of questioning about my drafts even though i know im taking the right guy. For example, there are really no great second baseman so i went til round 17 to get one. Also has no one heard of Mike Maroth?

i draft based on feel for a player. half the guys in the league i would never draft even though other people love these players(travis hafner, michael young, juan pierre, josh beckett, roy halladay are 5 guys I would never draft) whereas guys like derek lee, john lackey, gary sheffield, vladimir guerrero are almost guaranteed a spot on my roster bacause I like either their swings or the way they pitch

i dont pay attention to any of them. i draft according to myself. and in fantasy bsktball i think they tell you what you need or lack or something like that, i dont pay attention to any of that crap. if youre a good fantasy player, you should know on your own and you should be able to draft a good team from the start. and i usually do well in fantasy.
