Ok.......I have to believe you read the news and have actually read bits of the Patriot Act. If you have not, please do so. They are allowed to wire-tap phones calls without warrant or notice to those being listened to, they can sieze bank records without notice, you can be 'profiled' at any airport for looking suspicious (this is arbitrary and subjective), you have to have a passport to go to Canada (for god's sake), there was a man a man who was arrested for approaching v.p. Dick Cheney asking questions about the 'war on terror', we have practices such as extraordinary rendition where a citizen may be taken to another country to be tortured for information they probably don't have.......violations of privacy are just the tip of the iceburg.

That's what the Patriot Act is.....it gives the government the power to infringe on our Constitutionl rights any time, any way they want.
Hey, call it the "Patriot Act" and then anyone who says it's bad must be a crack pot....
Even ifs you want a credit card you MUST agree to allow the government access to your personal information or you don't get your ctedit card.......how patriotic is that?

When you do, make sure you research European and Asian standards in the matter. You'll find that the U.S. provides far greater freedoms.

They didn't violate privacy, it's ok to listen to everyones's phone conversations. They don't do anything unless you are going to commit a terrorist act .... or do something anti republican.
