i tried to use run -> ipconfig but it starts then closes right away.

its not my gate way pc im using a dell

you're using windows xp I presume...it doesn't matter that it's a gateway.

your command is only partly correct, try:

start>run>cmd
hit enter, THEN in the dos window type ipconfig

if you have win xp 2000 and up go to



start run type CMD black screen will pop up
then type IPCONFIG
you will the ip address for your gate way
