Does anyone know how old you have to be to volunteer at the YMCA?

Well, the key word is volunteer. Volunteer is free - it depends on what you are volunteering for. If you are volunteering as a life guard, you have to be 16 and be CPR certified. If you are volunteering to clean, paint or keep the grounds clean you can be any age but, you must have an adult present unless you are 16 years old.

I admire you for wanting to volunteer because there are so many non-profitable organizations begging for volunteers!

There are people of all ages helping the YMCA run courses for the younger members of the YMCA, these courses can include canoeing, rock climbing,

i volunteered under the Prince's Trust when i was 18. in the UK
but I'm sure they run things for younger people
