Why do cops tend to have thin lips?

It's kind of creepy looking. They have on those mirrored sunglasses and no lips at all....just a line below their nose.

Look at Sgt Joe Friday, or Vic on The Shield.

Depending on where you live they also all seem to be sprouting moustaches!
