This sentence from the article:

Comets are among the most primitive objects in the 4.6-billion-year-old solar system and their composition is considered to hold clues about its early development.

and the 3 highlights at the top of the article pretty much sum it up.

There's another sentence in the article describing what the probe will do if and when it successfully lands on the comet.

• European Space Agency probe successfully swings past Mars
• Probe passes Mars just 155 miles above the planet's surface
• Rosetta is currently on a 10-year journey to comet Churyumov Gerasimenko

Put these terms in a search engine and read up on the whole story. sometimes journalists forget to explain things in that article that they have gone over a bunch of times in other articles.

Those two quickie summations make me wonder what humanity will amount to when we reach those "terrible two's" we parents all recall....or... how about those "million questions an hour" years .... or those ... !... .!?

Space probe uses Jupiter's gravity to boost speed. Did you even bother to read the article because it's not that complicated.
