Hi, I'm looking for a song for somebody. They lost a daughter in a car wreck and this song they've only heard once a long time ago would mean alot to them. They think it's Dolly Parton - from the 80's - it's about somebody named Alana or Elana and the only line they can remember is "she's got wings and now she can fly" Any ideas? It's not "Let her Fly" which was all I could think of. Maybe it's not Dolly Parton?

Sorry to hear about your friends' loss.

I've searched all the lyrics databases I know of, and haven't found what you're looking for. I did find a poem you might like. In the meantime, I'll keep searching and if I find the song, I'll edit this post.

"FLY"

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of Heaven's love
Past the planet and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again

Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet

Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget

Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

well this is probably no help, but if u type in some part of the lyrics u do know into a website like "ask.com"or "google" then they might have an answer. But separate the lyrics by quotation marks
example: lyrics to "she's got wings" "and now she can fly"

P.S. if it doesn't help the sorry
