I bought a box of plastic nails for like 4 bucks that came with nail glue. They stay on great and they're not as expensive as acrylic in the salon. Can the glue damage you nails or skin?

I had a salon tech. tell me that it was o.k. for a period of time..I think he said 2 weeks at most...then you need to remove it all and let your nails "breath" for a few days before redoing them..Good Luck

Nail Glue Damage

No. It's just a layer on top and it's not really made to stay on for a long period of time. But they generally look really really fake. Make sure that the ones that you have don't look tacky. Also, make sure to take them off every couple of days if they don't already fall off. Because the nail glue tends to bubble when it's about to pop off and you could get an infection between the fake nail and your real nails.

The acrylic in the salons are also very bad for your nails, fyi. When you go, they sand off a few layers of your nail, so it's weak and brittle. And also, you can get air bubbles under the nails and it can lead to bacteria setting in.

It did in my case. I was allergic to a glue that I used and when I did find one I could use after I removed plastic nails my nails were in a bad condition.

Yes, sadly, it isn't very healthy for your nails. It can be harmful for the skin too, so watch it doesn't get on your skin. Also if you get any allergic reactions don't use it. Some girls have very strong nails and get them done all the time in the saloons and never complain about it. But other girls just get the nails done once and their nails are destroyed... So it depends too, I guess :p

No, as long as you clean your nails properly every time you take off your fake nails, and give it a rest for a week or two.

If you have thin nails, then it's not a good idea to keep using glue.

But it's a good product.

Yes it damages your nails. you're putting a coating over your nails preventing them from breathing. I've used nails like that before, and when you take them off it will be obvious that it damages them.

yes the nail glue can damage your natural nails. if you wear them too much all the time it can make your natural nails stop growing.

I would say yes, that it can damage your nails. It will sometimes discolor peoples nails and look ugly when you take off your fake nails.
