Hi, I'm only 17 years old. I often get light-headedness after standing up, fatigue very often. My arms and legs often feel tired as well. I think I have a low blood pressure. Can anyone tell me what could be the cause of it and how to solve this problem? Should I change my Diet? Thanks
(Links to websites would be appreciated)

I suffer from hypotension...low blood pressure. My doctor shared with me that it's not really a huge problem b/c I'm active - I exercise 5 times per week and I eat a well-balanced diet.
He told me that low blood pressure is cause for alarm if you are NOT active.
Everyone is different...so I'd make an appt. to see your doctor ASAP. While not so common in males, you might have low iron too. Only a doctor can let you know what's going on w/ your bod.

Blood pressure measurements don't count for anything if you've been walking around. Ideally, you should be sitting down for at least 5 minutes or so. Blood pressure also can vary during the day, so it's best to get measurements from similar times during the day. No caffeine in the morning either. These measurements should be repeated on a few separate occasions. Some people get "white coat hypertension" when they go to the doctor's office because they are nervous. Probably blood pressure medicines wouldn't kill you. But you don't necessarily need blood pressure medicines if your blood pressure is only high while active. When doctors study the effects of high blood pressure, they study the effects of people who are diagnosed with it as described above. You are probably at no higher cardiac risk from your blood pressure.

You need to see your physician, as this is the only way it can be properly diagnosed. You may have something else going on, which blood work will tell. Hence, you need to be seen and have a physical done with blood work. There is a website called WebMD that will explain to you about different medical disorders are, but again you need to be seen by your physician. I am sure it is something simple that can be fixed pretty easily, but you do want to make sure before something serious happens. Good luck and make that appointment tomorrow morning.
