If some money talking guy came out and said, Men are bad with money, I certainly wouldn't like the sweeping generalization.

If that is what she said, I would be offended. I hate any type of stereotype.

On a side note, I am terrible about money which is why my husband is in charge of our finances and he pays the bills.

Suze Orman has the right to make that supposed "generalization", because she has been in the business long enough to know which group of people does the best and which does the worst. Suze Orman is also a lesbian, so its not like shes a woman hater. I think some people just cant handle reality and look to be insulted. The fact remains that women do alot more shopping than men, which is why more ads cater to women, and why more stores have a larger ladies section, than they do mens. To deny this would be absurd! I like Suze Orman, and I respect her judgement on these issues because I know her motives are good.

Many, not all, women tend to be more intimidated by money than men, mainly because of how they were taught by their mothers, grandmothers, etc. Therefore, women don't normally learn how to use money to gain more personal power, to make it work for them.

I've read Suze's book and she speaks in detail about this. Fact is, once women develop a stronger relationship with money, they can easily become better with money than many men.

I think that this is a pretty extreme generalization. I believe that there are members of both genders that are not good at money management. Perhaps she is referring to her own circle of aquaintances. All men or women need to do is take a few courses in wealth management, or find a decent financial manager to give them the advice needed. Apparently there is a large amount of people in debt, but I would imagine that it is probably a fair split between both females and males.

What offends me about Suze is that she is nothing other than a waitress with an opinion. She is really not qualified to write a book or shoot her mouth off any more than you or I am.

When I took over the bill paying and accounting in our house, both our credit scores went way up, in less than a year. But I don't think this is a gender thing, some PEOPLE are better with money than others.

Maybe Suze Ormans is bad with money, or her girlfriends are bad with money, or her mother... I'm tired of people making generalizations, and publishing them, based on their limited experience of people.

No; first off, I'm not a woman, and secondly, if she has some substantial proof for it, I would be interested in reading it. What exactly is this new book you speak of?

EDIT: OH MY GOD! Baba Yaga, calm down! Are you going to every single one of my answers and screaming? Lord almighty, I already made an apology! This is the INTERNET, calm down.

Most women ARE bad with money. Suze is brave enough to point it out.
