I would say yes, avoid summer, but also plan it so your baby is born in the most favorable season! What month does the school year start? You don't want the child to be just too young to start one year and then the oldest in their class the following! Nor do you want to be throwing birthday parties in the height of winter! Another point to consider is even though you will be miserable in the warm weather, it would be nice to have your maternity leave spanning an entire summer! So I'd say try to get pregnant in winter!

Well I just went through what you want, I was prego all summer long and had my daugther in September. What a horrible experience, I was so freakin hot it was unbelieveable. I hated going outside in the heat, many times I felt like passing out. It was a horrible summer for me. Next baby better be a winter baby. Lets just say I had my air con on full blast all summer long and that wasn't enough. At work everyone was wearing sweaters inside cause of the air con, I was still hot. I never was comfortable. Yeah you can get cute clothes when your prego in the summer but its hot, and its not a fun time to be prego. Definitly fall, winter or spring pregnancy is better. If I had a choice I would want to the next baby to be born around March so I had till June-July to get back to shape. But most times you can't decide when your going to get pregnant, it just happens.

I've had a baby on Dec 24 and Sept 1. For me, being pregnant during the summer was the worst! It figures we had a really bad heat wave here, and I was miserable. I was sweating all the time, which I normally don't do. It was too hot to be able to go outside. My brother-in-law was doing his OB rotation this summer and said that there were a ton of inductions because of the heat causing dehydration and high blood pressure.
I'd go with winter. Then you still have 6 months to get ready for summer. But I wouldn't spend too much time figuring it all out because it may not work out the way you plan. Took me 5 months to get pregnant with each child...

I'm due august 3rd and i'm on the same page as you as far as being able to work out during the winter and be ready for the summer. A lot of people say that the summer time is the worst time to be pregnant because of the heat, and i'm sure it's going to be uncomfortable, however no matter what time of year you're pregnant, i think it's naturaly going to be extremely uncomfortable. Some people plan their pregnancies for a specific month that means something to them, so it's kind of up to you if you're planning to that extreme. Summer, spring, Winter, or fall, you're not going to be comfortable and the season's don't determine the health of the baby, so i say you do it whenever you want.
good luck.

I am so pleased that I am having my first baby in May.. I absolutely do not want to be pregnant in the summer. Everyone I know that has been says it is terrible. You are soo hot and uncomfortable. I am looking forward to getting back in shape and enjoying the summer with my new baby... I guess it is all about preference but honestly I have never met a woman that enjoyed being pregnant in the summer, mostly towards the end of the pregnancy. Good luck!!!

I had 3 babies. They were born in July, August and September. I hated being pregnant in the summer because I was already hot from all the changes my hormones were putting me through. My three were a surprise, so I couldn't plan the pregnancy but my advise would be to plan the birth for May. That way you won't go through the heat rashes and the hot flashes won't be as bad, also, you'll have nice weather to go out and get rid of the excess weight after the baby is born. Whatever you decide, I hope your angel is a happy and healthy one.

I live on a farm on the Canadian Prairies, and was pregnant with both babies over the summer. They were both born in September. I loved having them in the fall, because I had the whole winter to do nothing but look after them. No yard work means more time with them. Also, I find it easier to keep a new baby warm in the winter than cool in the summer.

You are SOOO hot when u are pregnant regardless of the time of year. But summer is the worse. You are wise to assume summer would be better, but it's not. I was pregnant during the summer but not big (I conceived in may) and I was big in the winter, which for me was the perfect time because I was "comfortable" when I went outside with out a jacket. But really anytime u get pregnant there is good things and bad

Getting pregnant in the Autumn or winter and having a spring or summer baby. We get to cuddle in the winter and have our baby at the beginning of summer (when it's not quite as hot as the middle). I guess it is all how you look at it. Also, our baby can wear alot of onsies at that time.
18 weeks pregnant with first
