discussion and reasoning by dialogue as a method of intellectual investigation; specifically : the Socratic techniques of exposing false beliefs and eliciting truth

Generally the di- part means there are 2 sides. So 2 people or sides having a dialogue to find "truth".

A question in and of itself I suppose could be dialectical if it is part of this exchange. As opposed to "What is everything you know about truth?" It would be more specific so that the asker could pick apart the answer.
