When people have crushes on prince charming, or a character in the newspaper comics. Is that a little weird or is just me?

I don't think so. It's understandable. If some character in there is your dream guy/girl then it's obvious that you'd get a crush on them. Surprisingly enough there are people that act like those characters. For example, my sister knew a boy that was called Calvin, had blond hair, a stuffed tiger called Hobbes, was six, hyper-active and asked questions that one would never expect from a six-year-old. In one sentance: she knew a boy that was exactly like Calvin in Calvin and Hobbes. When I was a kid I had a really big crush on Pippin from The Lord of the Rings. It went so far that I was convinced that he was real and that we would always set an extra place for him.
Another thing to look at is the fact that falling in love with a character is a lot easier than with a real person sometimes. You've got their character laid out in front of you and it's a lot easier to understand them. It's especially important to let kids and teenagers have the freedom to have crushes on characters, because at the same time they often work as a rollmodel, like Robin from Batman does. I had a crush on Arsenal, the former sidekick of Green Arrow, which was because he was damn hot and because I really admired him.
In conclusion I state again, that I don't think it's wierd. I can completely understand why people would have crushes on characters from cartoons, comics, etc. Though I may think that I'm wierd and such, it's not because of having crushes on characters.

Basically it's just a fantasy or fun little crush, but meaningless due to the fact that the character is merely a drawing or picture! The reality fades that fantasy soon enough... and the real prince charming hardly ever rides up on a white horse, but whatever he shows up on, it is usually ok when the love bug hits! If there is love, and it's sincere, the rest of it is not so important!

Not uncommon, it happens. I think we have all had a crush on a fictional character at one time or another. You get over it. Or, even better, you meet someone who has a crush on another character in the same strip and you get interested in each other. Good luck!

I don't know...I knew a lot of people in high school who had racy pictures of Lara Croft in their lockers...it depends on how deep a crush it is I suppose...

no, it would be understandable if it was a cute cartoon character,
like buckles or snoopy. i like snoopy from the peanuts and satchel from get fuzzy.
