b) The client shares with his therapist how his father has already put his mother’s BMW car up for sale, just two weeks after her death. He thinks that his father is trying to wipe out any memory of his mother, and uses the fact that he has put her car up for sale at a very low price as an example of his haste to rid himself of her mother’s memory. After the session the counselling psychologist contacts the client’s father and purchases the car.

Hahaha…okay so I’m not gonna do your homework, but I’d be more than happy to help you find the specific ethical violations that are described in each vignette using the APA Ethics Code: http://www.apa.org/ethics/code2002.html.

Scenario A: 3.08 Exploitative Relationships

Scenario B: 3.04 Avoiding Harm, 3.05 Multiple Relationships, 3.06 Conflict of Interest

Scenario C: 9.11 Maintaining Test Security

Scenario D: 6.05 Barter with Clients/Patients (hint, hint = this is obviously not a fair trade, the shrink’s family is gonna eat for a year off of a farmer whose son is only getting TWO sessions [clinically, you can’t get SQUAT accomplish in two sessions, its take 2 sessions just to formulate the problem and get a decent history done])! ...can you say exploitative?

*I know I said I wasn’t gonna do your homework but I just couldn’t help myself, so that’s a freebie.
