Coach of the Year--Thad Matta-- I give Matta the nod not necessarily for his coaching in specific but his ability to lure Oden and Conley Jr. away from Illinois and to Ohio State. These two have led the Buckeyes to a 27-3 record, a #1 ranking, and a Big 10 title. A few years ago the Ohio State program wasn't even worth talking about.
Player of the Year--Kevin Durant-- He is averaging 25 points and 11.5 assists, almost single-handedly carrying them to a 22-8 record, as a FRESHMAN! They are now #15 in the nation, which many people thought was impossible after the exit of LaMarcus Aldridge, PJ Tucker, Brian Buckman, Daniel Gibson, and Kevin Paulino, who are all of their starters from the Elite 8 team last year. Not only that, but all of the analysts in the nation are counting on Texas to make a run in the tournament, largely due to this man.

NCAA Coach of the Year would have to be A & M's coach, they have been dominating this season. Player of the year is Kevin Durant. He has just been on a tear this season, and he's much better than Greg Oden. You could make a case for Alando Tucker as well.

I'd have to say the coach of the year is either Andy Kennedy or Tubby Smith cause they're awesome!
