I don't buy myself anything new to often. I'm lucky if I get something new to wear once or twice a year. When I do get myself a couple of outfits, I turn around the next day and return them for a refund. I don't know why I feel guilty for buying myself something new. The other day I bought two new outfits and some jewelry to go with it. That night I had a very bad dream about buying the cloths and jewelry, and it bothered me so much that later that day I took the cloths and jewelry back and got a refund. Can anybody help me with this problem.

well, you recognize that guilt is involved so I would say the answer is in your childhood. You may not feel deserving or you were made to feel unworthy of nice things. See a therapist.

Its probably down to a convince issue... and the guilt comes because you dont feel you deserve to have nice new things. I shop far too much and always feel guilty after I buy something simply because I dont need anymore clothes but I never take them back I soon get over it when I try it on and it looks fab :)

What you should do is: -

Go to the store and pick a fab outfit. Buy it with cash. Rip up the receite. Take it home and cut off all the labels right away. You can not return it to the store easily now... so you have to keep it. Wear it and feel gorgeous!!!! Im sure it will help :)

You are either very tight with your money or you are a martyr and want everyone to look at you and say oh poor thing, she never spends any money on herself. You need to see a therapist to find out why you do this and to help you quit this behavior. Then again if you are a mother, by the time you buy what everyone else needs there is no money left for your needs. If that is the case then you have to put yourself first once in awhile.

i think you are wanting to use your money for something more important or you just are uncomortable with wearing new clothes.
also the feelings that you get about getting new clothes just ignore them! you should always get new clothes for yourself oncein a while if you like something stick to it. if you are building towards getting something bigger and more important than that my be one good reason you can still get something like clothes every once in a while.

Probably psychological, that you feel you don't deserve the items. You need to see a qualified psychiatrist for this.
