my computer does not recognize my coby when i plug it in.do i need some kind of software before i can get mus?

when i connect my coby 128 digital adio player/mp3(model num mp-c827) to my computer it does'nt reconize a divice that has been pluged in.do i need a software disc or something before i can down load music.i don't have a manual either,can i down load that to?

It depends on the operating system? Win98SE? If so you need a driver. You probably can get it from the coby site. You should be able to get the manual there too.
