This just popped into my head what a great question. Well if you had to chose which legendary musician is better who would you pick? This is an extremely close call. They both have very great, intelligent lyrics. Both are know throughout the world and both are known as the greats of there genres.

A lot depends on the style of music you prefer as Marley was obviously Reggae and done a lot of great songs while Jimi Hendrix was famous for what he done on that guitar of his of course. Personally I'll have to go with Hendrix as I love the guitar licks in Red House and another favorite is Wind Cries Mary.

I would have to say Jimi Hendrix only because I am more familiar with his music than Bob Marley's. It does seem like an unfair comparison though, since they were totally different genres of music-- rock and reggae. Kind of like apples to oranges.
