Topic ideas:

Governments creating false incidents and false intelligence reports to go to war: Viet Nam (Gulf of Token), Afghanistan (9/11), Iraq (Weapons of Mass Destruction). However, media reports important events according to the official government story. Media reports all use the same language. For example: Are we 'at war' or are we 'occupying' Iraq and Iran?

Do people confuse "words" with the "reality"? Today, "think tanks" invent new ways to look at events. How does the media contribute to changing the feeling (connotation) of words such as 'liberal'.

How important is precise language in decision making?

Do the ends justify the means?

Something that has been in the news a lot lately is the question of Anna Nicole Smith's baby's father.
Who is the father? Larry Birkhead (I think so), or Howard K. Stern (a creep).
