as a 6 year Honda factory tec, this is normal. don't listen to that b/s about a thermostat missing.

The digital cluster shows one bar to let you know the gauge is working OK. It should be half way once warmed up. if it goes any higher your car is overheating and needs to be looked at. dont drive it when it does that, preludes blow head gaskets very easy that way.

some one has taken out the thermostat that keeps the proper temp for the engine. by having to do this means that there is something major wrong with the engine. it will lower the pressure to stop over heating for a while, but i am afraid it wont be long until you need another engine, sorry to be the one to say i think you have been had

I have a '92 and when I start it the thermostat only has the dot, unless I've driven recently.
