if you have the correct drivers for playing a dvd, then ya. you have to have the video card in place inside your computer if it is not set up for that from the factory. you can buy video cards, graphic cards etc. but if it came with a dvd, dvdRW, then it has the hardware installed already and you just have to configure the program if you have one. like Nero. or somen..
