Thank you. I did go and read. It is a big help, but I'm still confused because my freinds husband has been in ICU with pneumonia for 5 days on a resporator and they are saying that its linked to his alchaholism and that he has symptoms of alps...I guess what it all boils down to is that because hes an alchaholic that its adding to the complications. Gosh, its just all so confusing and it just doesnt sound good for him.
They told her that he has a 50-50 chance of making it. He is in his 30s and has always been perfectly healthy. He basically got phneumonia overnite.
I guess now I will go and search the other two words that you mentioned with it...maybe then we will understand more.

That's part of what ALPS is......alcoholism, leukopenia, and pneumococcal sepsis (ALPS).

There is a lot of info about it online. Just do a search.
