They used to have oppressive Christian states in Europe. Kant wrote about a period in which every statement had to be couched in terms of Jesus, Mary, and God. They formed the govt. in the United States with the "separation of church and state" principle as a reaction.

Islamic states are theocratic members of an Islamic union, organized around mosques and a call to the muzzein that makes an 8-hour day unworkable.

Technically, it means Shariah law wherein everything is based upon the laws laid out in the Koran, the Muslim holy book. In reality, it's a hellhole existence wherein non-Muslims deemed "useful" to the state are granted "dimini" status, which means they're second class citizens subject to taxation and regulation Muslims don't have to put up with. Yet they're more fortunate than other non-Muslims, who are branded as "infidels" and are subject to extermination, just like Jews were in Nazi Germany. I'd avoid Islamic states like the plague if I were you!

Simply put...the entire country revolves around Islam law & tradition. Church and State are one and the same.

Thats why their fashion statement is over 2000 years old
