i just bought some "Plant Gro" aquatic plant fertilizer, and it says how much to add to my aquarium (2.5 mL) but it does not say how often it needs to be re-added. What is a good way to tell when you need to add more?

That really depends on what is in "Plant Gro" and what it is providing to the plants. What are the main ingredients?

Substrate fertilizer is for flora with roots, who additionally suck up various iron. A stick of this shoud be via each and every plant with great roots (like an amazon sword case in point). it won't help floating flora like java moss or anchored flora like java fern lots. Liquid fertilizer is for flora who can draw stuff from the water column (like floating flora, anchored flora, or flora with roots that improve in the water), or to characteristic hint minerals. It additionally advantages rooted flora in the substrate, yet no longer as effectively as a stick would. maximum fertilizer is introduced in liquid some drops an afternoon. it is going to finally locate its thank you to all flora. In all honesty, maximum low easy flora do no longer choose any fertilizer different than co2 & easy. just about all flora income from some co2 injection. With low easy flora, you will probalbly under no circumstances deplete all the food in the water column.

It all depends on what plants you have, size of tank, lighting, do you add CO2, and what substrate you use
